Election Day Message: Thank you

I’m proud to announce that I am the new alder for Fitchburg District 2, Seat 4! Being elected to the council is the greatest honor of my life. To the voters in District 2, thank you for putting your trust in me. It takes work to educate yourself on city council races; I am grateful to each and every voter in Fitchburg, and that goes for those that were able to cast a ballot and those that were not able to given the circumstances. Thank you to the neighbors that opened their doors and answered their phones to listen and share with me, and those that generously hosted a yard sign or spoke with their neighbors about the race.

Over the course of the campaign, we knocked 2,106 doors, made 1,824 phone calls and had 924 conversations with neighbors in District 2.

I could not have accomplished this level of outreach to the community without my extraordinary campaign team, my hard-working volunteers, my generous donors and supporters, and my steady, loving husband Patrick. I am grateful to the elected officials, community leaders, and organizations that chose to endorse my campaign and lift me up. I am grateful to the city staff that administered this complicated election and kept the candidates apprised of the situation.

These are difficult times, and I understand that many of you are struggling right now, whether it be issues of employment, child care, health, or isolation. The next two years are going to be different than we anticipated even a couple months ago, and they are bound to be more trying than we could have imagined. I ran this campaign because I wanted to make a positive difference in people’s lives. This will drive my work on the council every day. Please reach out to me with questions or concerns during this time. I can connect you with resources in the community. I look forward to staying in touch with you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I took the oath of office in a private socially distanced ceremony with the Fitchburg City Clerk and my husband on April 20, 2020.
